NIPT

NIPT may be considered by pregnant women who want prenatal screening for common chromosomal conditions, after discussing the test with their obstetrician or healthcare provider. It may be particularly discussed when there is: 1. A pregnancy where the parents want screening for common chromosomal conditions 2. A previous pregnancy affected by a chromosomal condition 3. An ultrasound finding that may indicate an increased risk of chromosomal abnormalities 4. An increased-risk result from another prenatal screening test 5. A need for additional information about the risk of common fetal chromosomal conditions NIPT can be offered regardless of maternal age or whether the pregnancy is considered high-risk.
